Brownies (sugarless)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. In a small bowl, add the ground flaxseed and water. Let this sit for 5 minutes to allow the flaxseed to hydrate.
  3. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Whisk in the olive oil, flaxseed, and salt.
  4. Incorporate the cocoa powder and whisk until the batter is dark and glossy.
  5. Gently stir in the whole wheat flour until just combined. Over-mixing whole wheat can make the brownies tough, so stop once the white streaks disappear.
  6. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top. Bake for 20 minutes.
  8. These are best when slightly underbaked. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with a few moist crumbs, not liquid batter. The brownies will still continue to bake as it cools down.
